What it’s like being a Receptionist at The Feline Medical Care Center

I’ve always been a cat person. They are intelligent, playful and independent. Working with cats can be a very interesting experience though. Cats seem to have a much harder time visiting the doctor than their dog counterparts. Cats can’t be tricked and no matter how many times I say, “You are so cute!” in a high pitched voice, cats know better. If they could say back, “You aren’t fooling anybody!” I know they would. They know they are at the doctor and they are not happy about it!

Here at the Feline Medical Care Center we know that cats need to be comfortable the moment they walk in the door. That is why The Feline Medical Care Center is the first full-service, feline exclusive, veterinary hospital in Loudoun County! We know cats are unique and therefore their experience should be unique too.

Taking your cat to the veterinarian can be stressful, but we have created an environment that is soothing for your cat. We have a peaceful lobby, no barking dogs and calming exams rooms. After working here for many years, I truly believe our soothing environment makes a huge difference for your cats visit. I’ve had so many clients tell me that their cat behaves completely different at our hospital than at any other vet. It makes me so happy knowing that we are making your cats visits a pleasant experience.

Working at a veterinary hospital can be a little chaotic at times! My day consists of answering phones, filling out charts, faxing insurance forms and filling medication. But my favorite part of the day is the interactions with our patients. There is nothing better than cat snuggles to put a smile on your face! I am so lucky that despite the chaos of the day, I get to spend time forming lasting bonds with our patients.

I’ve become so close to my clients and their animals over the years. I love watching your pet go from nervous to calm when they realize visiting the doctor isn’t so bad after all. I will always be there for you and your pet and I look forward to many more visits!

With Love,
